Mind Your Slots Manners

Many people wrongly believe that basic courtesy is not essential in a game that does not require much social interaction such as slots. Avoid playing slot machines with a coin cup on the machine handle or a chair with a coin cup, jacket or some other personal object on the seat in front of the machine. These are sure signs that the slot machine is being played by someone else who had gone for a while to the bathroom or to the cage cashier for a fresh change of tokens. When playing slots and you feel the need to go on a bathroom break, you may ask an attendant to hold the machine while you are away. Do what you have to do and get back as soon as possible and then show your appreciation by tipping the attendant for the favor. If you find a previous player's card in your slot machine, the owner will appreciate it if you place his card on top of your machine where he could easily find it.

Keep a few small bills with you. You will find these handy just in case you hit the jackpot. If the attendant has been prompt in hand paying your winnings, you may show your appreciation and customary generosity by tipping the attendant ten dollars for every one thousand dollar of your slots winnings. While tipping is not a strict casino requirement, it is considered good slots etiquette for winning players to show their appreciation for prompt and efficient service.
